It appears that joining the Georgia Genealogy Society may be a way
people who do not have access to Heritage Quest on line through a local library to
finally get it at home. The web site below says that if you join the
society at a certain level you will be able to access Heritage Quest on line
through their web site.
It may be worth looking into if you cannot get Heritage Quest otherwise
without taking a long trip to a city public library. Make sure you are certain
that you will be able to access the Heritage Quest web site no matter where you
live before you join.

The Georgia Genealogical Society has partnered with ProQuest to make the
HeritageQuest Online database available to GGS members. This is an exciting
benefit, which will be make available to the members of GGS through new tiered
membership levels - Individual Plus, Family Plus, and Life Plus.
GGS will administer this new benefit as a PLUS
membership. All members that
currently are enrolled through Individual or Family memberships will be
enrolled at the new Individual Basic or Family Basic
Levels. To remain at this level,
current members need do nothing. In order to gain access to the Heritage
Quest database through the GGS website, members must increase their membership
level to that of Individual Plus or Family Plus. The Plus member levels will
require the payment of an additional $5. Life members may join at the PLUS level
by one of two methods: 1) a one-time lifetime charge of $80 (Individual Life)
and $85 (Family Life) or 2) an annual charge of $5 per year.
Once a membership is upgraded to a "Plus" level, the member(s) will be issued
a user name and password by which they may access the "Members Only" area of
this Web site.
