Beginning March 2nd, 2020 the Mailing Lists functionality on RootsWeb will be discontinued. Users will no longer be able to send outgoing emails or accept incoming emails. Additionally, administration tools will no longer be available to list administrators and mailing lists will be put into an archival state.
Administrators may save the emails in their list prior to March 2nd. After that, mailing list archives will remain available and searchable on RootsWeb
After the last issue, v22n035, was sent out, I received a large number of bounces, mostly from charter.net, but there were others. Most of them were complaining that the headers were too large. So I apologize that so many of you did not receive that last issue. All of the entries are available in the database if you want to search for them, and the email is in the email archive.

I'm sending this to give you an update, and to see if this email is similarly rejected by those email addresses that rejected the last issue. I don't know how to make the headers smaller, but I'm researching that and will resume sending out issues as soon as possible. Thank you for your patience!
Final moderator for Obituary Daily Times
Administrator of GEN-OBIT email list
This is the email list of the Obituary Daily Times. It is a moderated email list. If you are searching for descendants of a particular family group, this is the exchange group you want. It's easy (and quite addictive!) to do an index of your local paper, and you then have access to newspaper obituaries from across the world. If you become a contributor, you can request a copy of the listed obituary. It's like receiving numerous newspapers a day to shuffle through the obituaries. You can also become a subscriber without contributing, but you don't get the frills. If you want to become a contributor, please visit our website page about being a volunteer: http://sites.rootsweb.com/~obituary/volunteer.html.
