I think it would be hard to improve on that one. I like it as is. And I do
like the term "regional support team".

Ok, here's my thoughts about where to head next. We've already mentioned
the Policies and Procedures in the article on membership. I'd like to
maintain a running list of what needs to be covered in the P&P, but
continue on the main articles of the bylaws for now.
P&P List (so far):
1) Appointing of CCs -- how a person is appointed, requirements for being a
CC
2) Causes for removal of CC.
After membership, the next logical place to move is to Officers. As I've
mentioned before, I believe that we only have 2 required officers - the SC
and the ASC. The recent poll of the CCs indicates that most of them would
like to have Regional Assistants, as long as they do not have governing
power. Talking with Jeanne, she mentioned the phrase "support team". I like
that idea -- it emphasizes that the main responsibilities of the RA is to
be supportive. So, how about something along these lines:
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Article 4: Officers and Support Team
An election for State Coordinator will be held coinciding with the national
elections. The term shall be for two years. (Stuff here about requirements
or should that go to P&P?) After the election, the SC shall appoint an
Assistant Coordinator whose term shall run concurrently with the SC. The
SC may also appoint additional technical assistants as outlined in the P&P
to assist with the state website. If such assistants are appointed, their
terms shall also run concurrently with the SC.
If the SC should leave the project for any reason during their term of
office, the ASC will act as the SC until a new SC can be elected to
complete the term.
A Regional Support Team will be elected by the CCs. The Regional Support
Team and any technical assistants appointed by the SC have no governing
power, but shall have responsibilities as outlined in the P&P.
Needs some work, but others of you are better at wordsmithing than I am, so
have at it :-)
