Hi y'all.
In response to Vivian's answer to my question and a question of her own on
GAGEN today, do you think it's possible for us to come up with a single
proposal concerning the SC election to be voted on prior to an SC election?
FWIW, even with Vivian leaving the SC position at the beginning of August,
I think we still have time to swing this. Say a couple of weeks for
nominations, a couple of weeks for campaigning, and a couple of weeks for
voting.
Some concerns:
1) do we want to try to write the proposal so that it is good after this
election, or write one for this election specifically and then cover the
general bases in the bylaws proper?
2) do we want to keep a 2-year term for SC?
3) do we want the EC to handle elections in the future? If so, we need to
come up with a different time of year.
What do y'all think?
Thanks,
Jacki
Here are my thoughts:
1) We might as well come up with something that will cover not only this
election but future elections.
2) 2 years is good.
3) If Joy is correct (and I think she probably is), then we should probably
try to handle elections within the GAGenWeb.
BTW, I will be attending Samford's IGHR all next week but I can pick up my
email via the internet (hopefully it will be up and running).
