Beginning March 2nd, 2020 the Mailing Lists functionality on RootsWeb will be discontinued. Users will no longer be able to send outgoing emails or accept incoming emails. Additionally, administration tools will no longer be available to list administrators and mailing lists will be put into an archival state.
Administrators may save the emails in their list prior to March 2nd. After that, mailing list archives will remain available and searchable on RootsWeb
The paragraph that Vivian revised below is actually a part of the P&P
proposal that Jeanne started. I think it sounds good.
As to the grammatical correction to Article 4 -- so noted :-)
I don't think we can plan ahead for every possible contingency, but I do
think we should at least consider Vivian's question about timing for
election of someone to complete a term. What do y'all think? I'd like to
complete this discussion on Article 4 no later than Sunday evening, if at
all possible.
And I agree with Vivian -- we are doing a great job! Thanks y'all!!

While waiting for results of the motion on Article 4, it seems like the P&P
should be our next item of interest. Both Articles 3 & 4 refer to it.
Jeanne's question below about HTML is a good one. It's not actually a
requirement to know HTML - many people use some form of WYSIWYG editor and
don't know HTML proper. And that's fine. Personally, I don't use a WYSIWYG
editor and code my pages directly, but then I'm a math/stat/programming
geek :-)
I think when we get to P&P, we can sketch out what we have and send
articles 3, 4, and the P&P to GAGEN for comments, specifically mentioning
that we haven't completed the section on removal of CCs (if we haven't by
then).
Off to work...

If there is no discussion by 9 pm tonight (9/9, EST), voting will begin and
run for 24 hours. Vote yes to approve and no to continue work on Article 4.
Thanks,
Jacki
We have a second. We'll write out P&P in its first occurrence, using the
abbreviation only when mentioned later in the same section.
Any discussion? The modified version of the article appears below.
Thanks,
Jacki

Article 4: Officers and Support Team

I will second with one change that P&P is written out. If the ititnitials
are used you'll get lots of questions during the discussion period on the
list.

I move to accept Jacki's proposal for Article 4 (Officers and Support Team) with the addition of her wording for SC requirements and a slight alteration of the wording in the final paragraph:

Jeanne
Hi y'all,
I sent two emails on the 25th of August, one was a start of the P&P
(written by Jeanne) and one was SC requirements. There was also an Article
4 on the Officers and Support team sent on Aug. 24. Let me know what you
think of those ideas, discuss, make a motion, make alternative suggestions.
Should the SC requirements go in the P&P or in Article 4 of the Bylaws?
I realize that we have a holiday weekend coming up, but I'd like to have
some response on this asap. I haven't updated the GAGEN recently and I'd
like to do that the first of next week. But it would certainly be nice to
have a start on the P&P to go with Article 3 that we are ready for their
comments/feedback/voting on.
Thanks,
Jacki
