Hi All, it just occured to me that there's something we all need to do when
RootsWeb finally comes back on line.
I just went to my non-RW search engine site and reviewed the Fannin Co.
stats. I have the Fannin search engine at
whatuseek.com a/k/a BeSeen
re-spider every week to pick up any changes on a regular basis. It is
currently spidering over 750 documents on the web about Fannin Co.
Because RootsWeb has been down for so long, the re-spidering function has
now EXCLUDED all data found on RW pages as it considers them to be all
'broken' links....bookoos of pages.
Thus, when RootsWeb comes back on-line, we all will need to go to our 'free'
non-rootsweb search engines and tell it MANUALLY to re-spider/index our
county sites...or else our visitors will NOT SEE the search results they
normally would. This will be very confusing to them.
Food for thought...
