Thanks margie, we had someone come over tonight that checked out our pc and said no harm
done. We notified the person who supposebly sent the email with the bad attachment and now
are waiting to hear from him. But it really gave us a scare and made both of us pretty
angry. Now to try to get some sleep and put this day behind us, we both are not feeling
up to any of this. .

works.
If you are infected some of the virus use your email addresses to send out
the virus.
Create a dummy email address. I used AAA with an email address of
aaa(a)nowhere.com of course it is nothing and since it is listed in the very
first spot in your address book it will not send to that address and stops
right there without sending the others.
From the info I have seen Eudora is the best email program to use
since the
worms are targeted at Outlook. I use it at work and really like it.
Hope this helps.

Oh, thanks Shadri...I will send copies of the email to the link you
suggested.
Thanks so much, Gloria

You can sometimes get results by forwarding suspicious headers to the
abuse
addresses ISPs involved. Tho not all are cooperative. Here is a link

I too have received these things every time I've ever posted to this list.
I
know they aren't coming 'from' the list, but from someone
in someone's
email
address book. Once I almost opened one thinking it was from my RC,
but
when I
looked a second time at the screen name, it was written differently,
both
names
together with no space. When I looked at properties, sure enuf it was
a
"nasty"
but I know it didn't come from him. It was spoofed. Now, some
people DO
have
email programs that allow them to make it look as someone else sent
something, I
don't want to think that of anyone here. I pray things
haven't gotten THAT
bad.
It is very important to pay attention to the file size of what is
received, some
don't even show an attachment.
I get them on a regular basis that spoof the postmaster, and failed mail,
and
returned mail, all those things we as listmanagers receive.
Stay safe all.
