Even though we put this information online and it is free, many reputable
companies offer a service called "Aggregating"...maybe news services - they
don't say the information is theirs, just that they will "gather" it for
you
for a fee. Factiva offer this service and also Nexis, these are legitimate
services. I want the information to get to the researchers and if they want
to pay an aggregator, it doesn't bother me.
Thanks

Subject: [GAGEN] I have second thoughts
In respect to having the Georgia logo on every page.
For those that are not aware of it, there's a person/persons that use our
pages to make money.
They do this by having frames, they charge a membership fee and then when
a
person clicks on links for the Genalogy information it is really our
free
sites that should cost nothing.
They have been chased from several different servers and I for one
complained to the state that was hosting the site for larceny by trick.
By using frames the user would have our pages pop into their right screen.
I stopped this by using style sheets and placed the logos on all the pages
for one of my counties. I also changed the entry page so they could break
out of the frames and let them know they had reached the USGENWEB project.
So logos on each page will stop this.
