Subject: [NL] [info] Blocking of RootsWeb by RoadRunner
(
rr.com)
To: NEWBIE-LISTOWNER-L(a)rootsweb.com
Hi admins,
RootsWeb and
rr.com are not currently seeing eye-to-eye
over rr.com's
reimplementation of a block on our lists and mail
servers. I had had
an email that said that they would remove the block and
it lasted one
whole business day (the day after Xmas). To say the
least, I am not
impressed especially as I would bet that we get more
spam from their
users than our list admins get via our admin addresses.
I am trying to stop the exasperated thoughts of
imposing a reciprocal
punitive block and will again try to resolve this
matter with them.
All I can say is to be aware that
rr.com is blocking
all or some of
our email and that I am trying to resolve the matter.
All complaints from
rr.com users should be addressed to
their ISP
with the comment that RootsWeb has sent numerous email
to
rr.com, has
had one reply and little joy in that reply. rr.com's
users have the
power to affect rr.com's decision-making far better
than RootsWeb do.
I see little point admins in further addressing the
matter here or on
the HelpDesk at this stage. As relevant information
comes to hand, I
will try to let you know.
Regards, Andrew
