I went back to the last message I received back as undeliverable and this is what I found
at the beginning of the message:
Hi. This is the qmail-send program at
spamlite5.knology.net.
I'm afraid I wasn't able to deliver your message to the following addresses.
This is a permanent error; I've given up. Sorry it didn't work out.
If I receive any more I'll re-approach Knology or let my hubbie do it.

I wonder if the problem doesn't come because
Spamcop.net which apparently
several
ISPs use to determine rogue spam ISPs - which a couple of weeks ago
targeted Rootsweb
as just such an ISP.
Reject messages such as:
your mailserver is rejected by Spamcop please see
http://www.spamcop.net OR
mail from 207.40.200.39 rejected: administrative prohibition (host is
blacklisted)
were quite common for a while on lists I host.
