Wonderful information...will go take a look...I did and it is great...can't
wait to read some of the case files. Wish someone would do the same for
Irwin and Ben Hill County....How did you get the film of the originals or
did you copy the originals? Since I am down in Florida I rely on ordering
film or fiche for anything that I abstract and transcribe. Anyone up in
Georgia near Ben Hill? Would love for someone to get into the Criminal
records from the creation to the county until about 1930. Gloria

Subject: [GAGEN] Good afternoon everyone
It is a glorious day here in my little corner of the world. Misty
rain
and 45 degrees, I just love a rainy day!!
I wanted to pass along a little information.
I have scanned in 264 pages of criminal records from Houston County to the
Crawford
County page. This book has not been transcribed anywhere.
I chose to scan them because that way I can get them online faster and
since
everyone can read, well you get the picture and besides I love old
script. Some of the page numbers are not there because the pages were x's
out with no print only a blank page I chose to just skip those pages. A few
of the pages were light so I brought them up in size a little to bring out
the text more.
There are many counties listed in these records because the witnesses come
from all
over, including Crawford, Bibb and Macon.
Beware that some of the photos are large because court house books are
very large .
I brought them down as much as I could without changing the
quality.
I am trying to transcribe the surnames from these records and have gotten
some of
them. I am also fininshing up on the few names that I have not
linked but have scanned.
These records contain both White and Black persons and name some of the
plantation
owners . They are actual trial documents with the Q & A in them.
I hope this will help someone find what happened to their ancestors.

These pages are still under construction and I will be tweaking them when
I get the
rest linked and can then go back to see how they are viewing on
differend computers using input from other.
Take Care,
