Hello
I have to say that I agree with you,Liz. My understanding was the copyright
is there to protect the page and information from certain companies who were
linking to the pages and charging admission. Also to stop the wholesale
removal of information for the sale by companies that would then offer our
materials for sale. We started this for free genealogy.
Some of the pages I took over several years ago are exactly as Carol
Middleton left them.
If someone had personal information or a special page, they took those off
before handover. I don't own the information on the Houston County
homepage, I have been lucky to have so many great contributors. Whoever
takes over from me, is welcome to the information because it is all about
contributors sharing the information with the "Houston County Community" not
me per se.
I have from the beginning added a "roles" of contributor and I hope when I
turn the page over, that my name will be added to it, but if it isn't then
"c'est la vie".

Are we saying that when you volunteer to become a replacement Coordinator
for a
county that you must CREATE AN ENTIRELY NEW WEB? What happens then
to the
"old"
pages?
