I agree with Richard here.
I will never ever send a notice that pertains to any CC to this list.
This is a private matter and has no place on a public, archived forum.
If a CC chooses to bring the matter to this list then I will not answer them
on this list but privately.
Wouldn't it just be a nice random act of kindness to help your fellow CC
instead of trying to make trouble for them.
If you see a link that has gone south, just let them know. We all have that
happen. They come and go and many times it can be your browser or ISP.
Can't we just be kind and considerate. We have counties that could use all
of us to help because they have burned so often or are so new.
I look for data for all counties not just in my region. By doing so I can
help the CC's in my region to be compliant with new data. I enjoy this
project and the opinions of others here but am amazed when messages about
others come across this list as if they are non people. Don't you think
that those counties you are openly complaining about have CC's with feelings
that may be hurt.
So, I ask that if you see something wrong contact the CC, let them know and
remember the very person that you are showing so little respect for may just
be the person that helps you crack your brick wall.
Be reminded that this is not just black and white but people with feelings
and are doing this out of pure love for genealogy just like you.

Debra,
First and foremost, I take offense at any accusations regarding "power"
grabbing or anything of that nature. Some of those whom you refer to in
that
vein are also some of the most tireless workers in this project. If
you
don't
believe me, look at the Macon County page. Macon County has over a
thousand
pages of data. Look at the Cobb County page. We have over 500
cemetery
photo's and are just getting started. Look at the new data in Liberty
County.
Look at the plethora of information being made available for those
who
want it.
Secondly, and I can only speak from what I have experienced and seen for
myself, but I am not aware of any vague notices of non-compliance. I have
only sent one such notice in my time as RC - and it was very specific, and
the
issue was resolved in very short order. I have seen the issues that
another
RC has been discussing in her region, and they are, likewise very
specific. I
saw one recently regarding broken links that was very specific as to
the
broken links.
I have never sent a compliance notice via the GAGEN list, and I never
will. I
believe that doing so would be embarassing and would be singling
someone
out
for ridicule. I would hope that you would know me well enough to
know
that I
do not run around having fun at the expense of the feelings of
others.
However, I would like to take this opportunity to congratulate Amy
Hedrick,
our Glynn County CC, on a wonderful compliment that she got from a
visitor
to
the Glynn County site. Way to go, Amy!!!!
On a different note, Wyndell and I invite everyone to view our Cobb County
cemeteries at
http://www.rootsweb.com/~gacobb/cemeteries/cemeteries.html.
Your feedback, publicly or privately, is welcome and appreciated.
Richard
