MK,
I think a story on the GAGenWeb would be good, however I am very concerned
on the way that you choose to portray it.
I don't find anything amusing about other peoples email. I'm sure most mail
is sent with feeling and to poke fun is not my idea of what of what should
be done here.
There are many CC's in this project pouring their hearts and souls into
their work, to help researchers, and maybe gain a little to help in their
research.
I think if you plan to portray this project as a laughing matter, you are
doing a very big disservice to the members here.
Press is good, but please see that it does portray these hard working CC's
in the good light they should be shown in. Not a mockery or a laughing
matter, which I find it hard to believe that CNN would be interested in.
Just my humble opinion.

One of my dearest friends is married to an investigative reporter for
CNN.
They spent this weekend with me and we talked about genealogy.
(I am not sharing names or gender here, as not to make this about who the
reporter is)
To make a long story shorter, x thinks the lists' emails (and the ones I
have
received privately from a couple of you) are hysterically funny and
wants
to
do a story on our little corner of the world.
Since genealogy is so popular, x is quite taken with the idea - plus,
there
was one really juicy bit of info that really got them going and x
asked to
read
my emails - and it went from there.
So! If anyone would like to participate in this story, please email me
with
permission to forward your letter and contact information on to x. I
do
not
know when this will start, given the world situation and x was only
in the
states for a little reprieve from Iraq.
Before you start filling my box with copyright threats, I am sure CNN's
attorneys know the law better than any of us and will do nothing to breach
them!
