Subject: [USGENWEB-DISCUSS] 1940 Census
For anyone who is interested:
The USGenWeb Census ProjectR will have all the microfilm reel numbers online
by Saturday night and the Enumeration District description tables are
filling in behind. Our transcription template is ready to go.
We realize that with each new census release the population and number of
columns involved increases. For that reason we have "TEAM" tables whereby a
volunteer can select from the Enumeration Districts within their county of
interest and not need to commit to transcribing an entire county.
Each online transcription also has a text file that shows which
townships/Enumeration Districts have been completed and which are still
available for transcription as well as a set of index files for the
completed portions.
While we do welcome all volunteers this message is simply an FYI for those
who didn't know about our "Team" efforts and preparations for the 1940
Census release.
