At the proclamation signing today, Gov. Deal said he would keep the
Archives open. That's great news, but the job is not finished.
We need to keep writing to the governor to thank him for his
announcement and to hold him to his promise. Closing on Nov. 1 and
reopening after the legislative session is not an option, if we want
to retain the seven experienced employees who were terminated yesterday.
