The traffic on the email lists are down. I tried sending "show off your
neighbors" on the list I administer in GA with links to the corresponding
web sites and their web masters. Very little response.
I am on Facebook. I set up groups for my family lines. A while back
discovered some genealogy groups on there. I joined Alabama and Georgia as
majority of my research is in both states. Not really found a lot but still
look just in case. Tonight when I updated Clayton, I went to the Georgia
group "Georgia Genealogy Network" and posted a link to it. Told them I was
updating the site. I don't know if it will help, but I don't think it could
hurt.
I checked the AL group and someone ask if anyone had the history of Dothan.
I went to the county list, found Houston County history page and copied the
link to the Facebook page. What I am hoping is it may attract people who
don't know about USGEN Web Project and this could help draw attention.
We've got to do something. Too many people have spent to many years trying
to do a great job and those of us who are around to try to keep it alive.
Majority of the info on my sites were there when I got them. All I do is
keep the links working and add info were I can.
