I want to remind you that the discussion board became available yesterday
afternoon. After registering (contact me to register you), you can post
your suggestions directly to that board for the committee members to refer
to, or if you prefer anonymous suggestions, you can send them to a
committee member who will then post them anonymously.
My main reason for wanting the discussion board was to ease the secretarial
duties of reporting suggestions and comments from CCs. The secretary to the
previous GRC worked way too hard :-).
The committee will continue their discussions on the GAGENWEB-L mailing
list, which is archived at
http://archiver.rootsweb.com/th/index/GAGENWEB/.
We've completed discussion (for now) on Article 1 (Name) and Article 2
(Purpose). We are beginning to discuss membership. We want your ideas, so
please post them to the discussion board or send them to a committee member.
Just a few things to consider under the membership discussion:
1) Do we have co-CCs and/or assistant CCs? If so, what's the difference?
2) Should there be a restriction to the number of counties a person can
hold? (The old guidelines say 3.)
3) Should there be a restriction on the number of people to work on a county?
4) Are transcribers and contributors who don't manage a site members?
5) Voting rights - who, when, how many votes per county and/or person?
