Hello:
For your voting pleasure: These are the folks who are currently holding the
offices of the USGenWeb. If you like the way things were handled concerning
the GAGenWeb and feel these folks represented you, then these are your
candidates. If you think Georgia has been treated poorly and feel we need
better leadership then these are the folks you need to get out of office. I
can be no more unbiased than that folks. Please print this information and
put it somewhere that will remind you to vote. Please do your homework. As
with all political elections we need to be as familiar with the candidates
as possible.
Please vote no matter who you are voting for. The future of the GAGenWeb and
the USGenWeb can only be as good as the people who run it. As CC's we may be
the lowest rung on this ladder but folks we are the foundation of the
project. Never forget that without "us" there would be no "them".

Subject: [GAGEN] Votes?
Evening All,
I don't usually chime in but whole thing doesn't seem right to me.
I was able to access the Bylaws here:
http://www.usgenweb.org/official/bylaws.html
According to the National Bylaws Article V the members of the Advisory Board
shall consist of:
a.. A National Coordinator (who only votes in the event of a tie)
b.. Four State Coordinator Regional Representatives
c.. Eight Local Coordinator Regional Representatives
d.. One representative of the US GenWeb Archives Project
e.. One representative of the US GenWeb Census Project
f.. One representative of the US GenWeb Tombstone Project
g.. And one representative at large
Question: Who are these 17 people and which one represents the interests of
Georgia and its regions?
http://www.usgenweb.org/about/whoswho.html
None of them ever contacted me to ask if I felt Tim or Richard weren't doing
their jobs properly.
According to the National Bylaws Article VIII. Section 1
a.. Nine voting members shall constitute of quorum
Yet:
According to the National Bylaws Article VIII Section 2
a.. Issue shall require 2/3 majority to pass
Question: So how can a quorum be less than 10 in this case?
According to the National Bylaws Article VI Section 9 a member in good
standing is someone who:
a.. responds to emails promptly
b.. actively supports researchers efforts to find information
c.. maintains website with appropriate, current up-to-date information
d.. serves as a good example of the guidelines and standards of the US
GenWeb Project
Who decided which of these rules were broken by Tim and Richard and how were
they presented to the people Tim and Richard represent? Should we not have
been contacted to see if we agree with the assessment that was made?
And I know this is not the military, but what ever happened to the chain of
command? My first line of communication should be my Regional Coordinator,
then the State Coordinator, then finally the Advisory Board. Why are some of
these issues not resolved at the local level?
