Which is not in the spirit of the USGenWeb or the election
committee,
which says everyone can vote in the national elections.
David
David,
We may be interpreting this section differently. The proposal below does
state that all members can vote. The membership is made up of coordinators;
all coordinators are members, and they all have a vote.
The proposal also says that each county or special project will have no more
than 2 coordinators. (This was the preference of the majority of the CCs
who participated in the poll concerning this issue). However, there was
some concern that certain counties or SPs may desire additional help.
Therefore, the proposal allows coordinators to appoint "assistants" if
desired. These are not "assistant coordinators." They are just plain
"assistants." An assistant might be a transcriber, a record-fetcher, a
cemetery surveyor, etc. who the coordinator has formally asked to help with
a particular job. Since assistants are not coordinators, they would not be
considered members and therefore would not vote.
Just to clarify: the terms "co-coordinator" and
"assistant-coordinator"
were purposely omitted. A coordinator is a coordinator is a coordinator,
whether a county has one or two. This frees up the word "assistant" to
apply to helpers who are not coordinators.
Does that make sense? It's important that we're all reading and
understanding these proposed Articles the same way.
