Hi, thank you to those who have asked me about placing a message asking
subscribers for their American Revolutionary War ancestors names and
information about their service records on the mail lists that you host .
Some have asked if my message to this list earlier this month was just for
CCs or was it for others also? The message that I posted to this list was
for CCs and RCs only, however, I was planning to extend that request to
others eventually after I got the pages uploaded and as much data from the
CCs and RCs posted to the pages. The one thing that is requested though is
that you not use my gholback(a)comcast.net address on your requests that you
post to the lists....but use the address that I have always used for all
GAGenWeb Project pages, gholback_1999(a)yahoo.com I only use the
gholback(a)comcast.net for these two lists and not for other traffic.....and I
do not want the gholback(a)comcast.net posted on the lists for others to use
as a means of contacting me.....if those who have already posted messages to
their lists and used this address could delete their messages and
rewrite/repost them using the correct email address I would greatly
appreciate it....The url for the GAGenWeb Military Project site is as
follows:
http://www.rootsweb.com/~gagwmil/revolutionarywar.htm
Data section Index page:
http://www.rootsweb.com/~gagwmil/argeorgia/arindex.htm
These pages are always going to be in the process of being added to as I
plan to add as much cross referencing material as I can for anyone who wants
to learn about an ancestor who was either/or/and Born in GA, Died in GA,
Served in GA with the Colonial forces. For those whose children and spouses
of RW veterans ancestors came here from other states there will be a page
set up for those...even when the ancestor died in another colony. But that
will come much later.....For instance in the Coffee family, General Coffee
Indian fighter....his father was a RW veteran but died in another
state......General Mark Lea Willcox (Wilcox county is named for him)...his
father died and was buried in NC but there will be links and information
provided for families such as this so descendants can trace their RW
ancestors...many of our ancestors died in other states but their wives and
children received land grants through their service records....so that is
how those will be tied into the project....their service records allowed
their widows, orphans to own land in GA. I have all of the Stub Indents for
SC and books that list all of the SC RW history, names, and much more that I
would like to share...so this will allow me to help those whose ancestors
did serve but were not buried in GA....that part of the work will come after
I list every man and woman who had direct ties to GA and not only through
their heirs moving here from other states...Many thanks for all who have
helped me to obtain data for these pages. Gloria
