As we move closer to our election for state coordinator (SC), we need to
establish some rules that will cover the upcoming term. Yes, we will have
an election to meet USGenWeb bylaws requirements, although there is only
one candidate. Following are the proposed rules. Please vote "yes" or
"no"
by responding to me privately. Please do not just hit "reply." Copy/paste
my email address in the "to" line. This will keep from cluttering people's
mail boxes.
We will vote on these guidelines until 9 a.m. EST Monday 18 July. At that
time we will begin the election for a new state coordinator.
Thanks,
Vivian
2005 Election Guidelines
The upcoming SC term is for two years. The term begins 1 August 2005.
The State Coordinator (SC) will appoint an Assistant State Coordinator
(ASC) who can assume his duties if he is unable. The ASC's term runs
concurrently with the SC's. The SC may appoint such members of a support
team as he deems necessary. The term for the support team members will run
concurrently with the SC's.
If the SC relinquishes the job within four months of the end of the term (1
April 2007), the ASC will serve as acting SC until the end of the term. If
the SC leaves before 1 April, a special election will be held to fill the
unexpired term.
The SC will conduct regional elections for Regional Assistants in time for
the new RAs to take their seats by 1 October. The terms will be for two years.
