To my fellow County Coordinators,
I just want to remind everyone how important it is to vote in the upcoming
election. The other SEMA CC Rep position is coming open, Denise Woodside
has held that seat and is not running in the current election. Please, go
to the election website's Meet the Candidates Page located here
http://www.rootsweb.com/~usgwelections/national-2005/candidates-index.html.
I have learned alot about people in the project by visiting their county
websites. Most of the candidates have included links to their websites on
their campaign pages inviting you to take a look at their work. I believe
those pages are an indication of the level of commitment they have to the
project and will have in representing your interests in the project.
Another important seat that is up for election is that of RAL or
Representative At Large. Everyone in the project votes for this seat and it
is a voting seat on the advisory board, so please take the time to get to
know those candidates also.
Of course, the National Coordinator is being elected and that is a very
important position. It is not a voting seat on the Advisory Board but
directly affects how the Advisory Board is run among other responsibilities
in the project. Again, I can not stress enough how important it is for you
to educate yourself about these candidates and vote responsibly.
I would imagine that any of you that are interested in the politics of the
project already know about the various mailing lists that are important to
pay attention to but I will include the links here in case you don't know
about all of them.
The USGW-DISCUSS List
http://lists.rootsweb.com/index/other/USGenWeb/USGENWEB-DISCUSS.html
You may find it easier to browse the archives of this list rather than
subscribing to it.
You may follow the Advisory Board by reading the archives of Board-L found
here
http://archiver.rootsweb.com/th/index
There is also a regional mailing list for the SEMA Region found here
http://archiver.rootsweb.com/th/index/USGenWeb-SE/
If you are still unsure about someone, ask someone else you know and respect
in the project their opinion.
There are two other very important items on the ballot this year that I will
write more about later.
PLEASE VOTE!
