Hi All,
Two part posting here:
Part One: I'm currently reading a book called "The Hornet's Nest: A Novel of
the American Revolution" by former president Jimmy Carter. It's historical
fiction and focuses on the Revolution in Georgia and the Carolinas... a subject that
isn't much written about. It's apparently his first work of fiction, and it's
not half bad. He did a lot of research and it's been interesting reading a novel
about this part of Georgia history. Thought some of you might enjoy it.
Part Two: One of the characters in the book is a spy who kept detailed records on the
Georgia settlers and their loyalties, or disloyalties, to the crown. This part is
semi-fictional, but it got me wondering... certainly some such records were kept at some
point, and I wonder if any are still around, maybe even in the UK? Has anyone ever heard
of records in Great Britain pertaining to American colonists (who were, of course, British
subjects)?
