I just wanted to drop by. I had put up a web page for Eagle Scouts a long time ago, and
this really has been the season for it to catch on. I'm working with three young men
who
want to do transcriptions and/or clean ups of old cemeteries. I think that's so neat.
One has jumped through a lot of hoops trying to determine the ownership of an old
overgrown family cemetery (with his mom's help), and I think it's been a good
lesson for
him that things don't always easily fall into place.
Some of the others may find out that it's more work than expected, but that's a
lesson in
itself. I wish my 16 year old nephew would do this for his Eagle Scout project, but I
think he's hoping for something in air-conditioned space where he can listen to his
MP3
player all day. ;-)
I feel like I've been so out of touch with the GAGenWeb group lately, mostly because
of
my work schedule and being inundated with SC cemeteries. Hope everyone's doing
well.
