Linda, Thanks for the links. I especially enjoyed the Civil War maps.
It's amazing how much new information is added to the Internet every day. Lately,
I've
been immersed in Google Books
http://books.google.com . I've found so many good
histories
and Gazetteers, along with cool things related to my own family (like the Classical Latin
college text books that my great-great aunt wrote 1913-1930's , and, no, I don't
read
Latin!).
I'd rather lie on the couch with a good book, but a lot of these are rare books and
they
are free!

Subject: [GAGEN] Research Links
Thought I would share a couple of links I've seen come across
county lists
recently that you might want to add to your sites or that could be used for
data to add to your site.
Gilmer Civil War Maps Collection at UNC
http://dc.lib.unc.edu/gilmer/
Franklin Garrett's Necrology at Atlanta History Center
http://garrett.atlantahistorycenter.com/
A searchable index of microfilms held there - it was described as "A
genealogical resource for white men, twenty-one years of age or older, who
died between 1857 and 1931in the Metropolitan Atlanta area."
University of Georgia Centennial Alumni Catalog
http://dlg.galileo.usg.edu/centennialcatalog/
I also ran across this interesting development at the archives that you
might want to keep an eye on -
