Subject: [STATE-COORD] AB Vacancy - SWSC County Coordinator Representative.

Per the USGenWeb Project Bylaws/Standard rules as National
Coordinator, I hereby declare a vacancy on the USGenWeb Project
Advisory Board. The position is that of County Coordinator
Representative, term ending 8/31/2009, for the SWSC region of
the USGenWeb Project. The SWSC region encompasses the States
of Arizona, Arkansas, California, Hawaii, Kansas, Louisiana,
Missouri, Nevada, New Mexico, Oklahoma, Texas and Utah.
A call is now made for interested individuals to fulfill this
unexpired term. If you have an interest in this position
please contact Tina Vickery, National Coordinator
tsvickery(a)gmail.com and/or Scott Burow, Representative at Large
sburow(a)swbell.net. Below is the pertinent references from our
Bylaws and Standard Rules regarding the qualifications of this
position and the rule used in filling the vacancy.
Please submit your letter of interest by February 4, 2009.

ARTICLE VI: DUTIES/QUALIFICATIONS OF ADVISORY BOARD

Section 8. In the event a board member is unable to complete
his/her term, the Advisory Board will appoint a replacement to
serve until the next scheduled election.
Section 9. Nominees for National Coordinator shall have the
following qualifications: at least one year (the twelve months
immediately preceding an election) of continuous service and
current activity as a member in good standing, and eligibility
to vote within The USGenWeb Project. Qualifications of nominees
for State Coordinator Representative, Local Coordinator
Representative, and Special Project Representative are the same
with the addition that their service shall have been as a State
Coordinator, Local Coordinator, or one of the various positions
associated with the Special Projects, respectively. "In good
standing" is demonstrated by responding promptly to email,
actively supporting researchers' efforts to find information,
maintaining their website with appropriate, up-to-date content,
and serving as a good example of the guidelines and standards
of The USGenWeb Project.
SECTION IX. VACANCY ON THE ADVISORY BOARD.

All Other AB Positions--USGenWeb Bylaws Article VI, Section 8
applies along with the following:
The vacancy will be announced on the Board mailing list and the
appropriate regional mailing list(s) within two days.
Within five days the Advisory Board will call for volunteers
for the position. Volunteers must meet the eligibility
requirements for the position.
Within fifteen days of the call, volunteers must submit their
names to the National Coordinator and/or the Representative At
Large.
Within 30 days of the announced vacancy, the Advisory Board
will elect, by 2/3 majority, a replacement from the pool of
volunteers.
