Bonnie, I do not know if you are a host of any Counties for the GAGenWeb
Project or the USGenWeb Project, but I will assume you are not and are
not aware that the hosts of these counties are all volunteers. Many
providing for their own server space online and paying extra for extra
bytes so that they can post material online to help fellow family
history researchers. We also devote many hours to answering email from
folks who ask us personally to look up things although we spell out that
we have look up volunteers to do that. We also get many letters from
folks who want us to personally post their queries to the automated
query system. I average 80 pieces of email a day and most are due to
people not reading what is on the pages instructing them when posting
queries. I have to delete their names and email addresses from the query
boards because they post the incorrect email address or have to delete
those who post crank letters. What I am trying to point out is that a
lot of our time is spent taking care of errors that others have made. We
also rely upon volunteers to contribute copies of records so that we can
post them online. If the volunteers and contributors are lax in sending
us material then we can only wait. Then there are the times when we
become ill or family members become ill. If you would like to host
Pulaski County for the GAGenWeb Project I will send a request to the
State Coordinator in your behalf. At this time I do not know if anyone
else has applied to adopt the county but as I last heard it is still up
for adoption. I am sorry that you feel Pulaski County has gone to hell
as all of the other counties. How much time have you donated to help
others online? How long have you been volunteering your time and effort
to help others? In the time I have been online helping others I have
been diagnosed with Rheumatoid Arthritis, Poly Myalgia Rheumatica,
degenerative disc disease, ostioprosis and many other health problems,
my Dad has died, four grandchildren born, aunts and uncles dying, a
major move to another county and city, selling one home purchasing
another and many other high and low points in my life but I pretty much
kept the counties maintained. At first I maintained 14 GA Counties
creating the pages and getting them up online when there were only a few
of us plugging away to build up the GAGenWeb Project. I also hosted two
VA counties and a host of other American Indian sites. Your language and
attitude is very hostile and not one of a person with a good or
understanding nature and I know there has been a lot of people online
who has been having problems with you. I will be hosting Pulaski and the
others until they are adopted but I will not be making a lot of changes
on any of those county pages. They are being adopted out as is and it
will be up to the CC who replaces me to build them from the point where
they were left. As for the Genealogical Society and Janice Scruggs as
you may note it is not advertized on the Pulaski County pages. If you
have a problem with Janice or that society you must contact them and not
me. The GAGenWeb Project is strickly a volunteer project and we do not
advertize for profit making groups. Best wishes, Gloria
