Subject: McIntosh Reserve
We are afraid that the Carroll County Commissioners are positioning to cut
timber on the county owned McIntosh Reserve recreation area, under cover of
developing the recreational aspects of the park. We understand there is a
political ploy to remove administration of the reserve from the Carroll
County Parks and Rec Department and place the Reserve directly under the
commission's direction. One of the commissioners is the father of the park
superintendant. We as recreational users of the reserve do not want ANY
clearcutting on the archaeologically historical reserve for any purpose.
The reserve is home to many deer and other wildlife and is on the banks of
the Chattahoochie. It is the old homeplace of Creek Indian Chief William
McIntosh.
Please forward this message to anyone who may see fit to take ation to help
us preserve our Reserve.
Thank you.
