Subject: Maintaining Queries
Gaila,
I second all of your observances of the "new" query system. I would like
to add the one thing that I, as a researcher, miss the most and that is
being able to go into the Indexing System and look at the lists of the
Surnames posted because on many occasions I found contacts or information
this way because of different spellings used by people.
I have researched putting a query system and indexing system on my county
pages but I took over an existing site about 7 months ago and was not
maintaining the GenConnect Boards. I have tried to find out who was so
that I could get the password to use Query Express on my site and can't get
a response on that so I am at a loss about what to do.
I did go onto the boards where documents had been posted, obits, wills,
etc. and copied the files, saved them as text files and posted them in our
Archives so that there was easier access to them.
I would welcome any suggestions about what to do about the query system if
I can not get a response about the password.
Thanks, Linda Barton
