Good Morning Everyone,
Found this to be interesting, looks like Family Discovery is back again.
I wen to the site and looked around, on the very bottom of the what's new
page, it states in very small writing, (however this is the only page that I
found it, it's definitely not on the ordering pages.):
Disclaimer:

maintained by Family Discovery.
This is merely a search engine that takes you directly to the information
skipping all the time consuming steps
. This page does not necessarily contain a COMPLETE list of all online
information, but merely for which records have been currently located
online to compile this genealogical search engine.
. We are still currently searching for records online to add to our linking
database.

1. IN THE SPOTLIGHT:
If you have already received this we would like to let you in on
a little secret. Your quality genealogical resource is running
a huge discount special extended past the original cut off date.
This special is only available to a small amount of new members
and only at the URL
http://www.familydiscovery.com
If you have not already taken advantage of their special offer
we suggest you do so very soon. Inside sources tell us that
this secret special is not going to last long.
If you have not heard of Family Discovery, or don't understand
this service, be sure to read on and learn everything you need
to know about their service.
Family Discovery offers an online based genealogical research
tool. They provide a unique service that many researchers don't
understand. When it comes down to it, they offer a pay for use
search engine. At first, this sounds like an absurd place to
spend your time. I mean, there are tons of free search engines
out there, why would someone pay for access to one?
Well, we have discovered that they offer a service that saves an
online genealogy researcher an enormous amount of time. They
have brought together genealogists from all around the world and
allowed their clients to access their research on a direct link
basis.
Your regular genealogy search engine or directory, like Cyndi's
List for example, are great sources of information. But Family
Discovery has taken the genealogy search engine to a different
level. They have created an engine that takes you directly to
the information you are looking for.
Let's walk through the steps of using a normal search engine.
When you first access one, you enter in your ancestors names
and/or information that you are searching for. The search
engine will then bring up a list of all the web sites that list
your keywords in their descriptions. This is when your
searching starts. You look for the most relevant links to click
on to start exploring the web site looking for relevant
records.
The problem that we have found with this is, that it takes an
extremely long time to search through all the links and then
search through all the web sites looking for your information.
This is where Family Discovery's services come in.
They have created a search engine that does everything the other
normal ones do, plus more. Now, let's walk though the steps
involved when using their search engine.
When you access their search engine, you enter in your ancestors
names and/or information that you are interested in, just like
the other engines. The search engine will then bring up a list
of the web sites that actually contain the documents you are
searching for. Each item on the list is followed by a
description of the information contained within. When you click
on the link, it takes you directly to the page within the web
site that contains the keywords that you entered in. This is
what makes it possible for them to charge a fee for using the
search engine. It saves you an enormous amount of searching
time.
So after a complete evaluation of their services, we have
concluded that they do provide an important search tool that
actually takes specific steps to save you researching time. We
recommend them to any genealogist that is doing online research.
Especially anyone that has a limited amount of time to
research.

2. YOUR COMMENTS:
Here are comments regarding research tools from readers like
you:
Susan Humlich (humichology(a)yahoo.com) says:
At first I was hesitant to subscribe to a search engine, since I
have used numerous free ones in the past, but I am glad that I
did. Family discovery saved me 3 hours worth of research time
the first day I used their high tech search engine.
John Bennet (jbennet67(a)hotmail.com) says:
The service didn't really help me as much as I would have liked,
due to such a general surname, but I can see how it could help
other genealogists tremendously.
