I have two questions about the Rootsweb - Ancestry, formerly Gen-Connect
boards:
a) many queries seem to be about living people - not genealogical but more
about finding parents. I wish there was another space for these, but the
Ancestry.com boards seemed to have allowed this information on their boards.
Is anyone removing these and redirecting?
b) again there seems to be a difference on the Gen-Connect boards there was
a "culture" of a properly worded query and less of 'No, that doesn't
connect with my line'. The
Ancestry.com clients seem to have a
conversational tone to them - I liked the more informational style on the
Gen Connect boards but I am loathe to remove the conversation threads. The
reason is that on the GenConnect boards, you could click on the persons
email address and have the same conversation but it was private. Now if you
click on author, you don't get their email address, you get all of their
Queries about any surname or locality. That might be of interest, but
having their email address available would be beneficial.
So is anyone else experiencing this - any advice?
Thanks
Gaila
