Georgia's boundaries did extend over to the Mississippi. North Carolina's
boundary also extended to Eastern Louisiana and included South Alabama &
South Mississippi and a chunk of Louisiana.
It came from about Bibb County, Ga South- straight line in either direction
and all the way to present day Louisiana. This area is known as the
Disputed area, and the dispute was with Spain. Around 1800 this area was
known as the Mississippi territory.*

Originally Georgia's territory, in the minds of the King and originators
extended from the present boundaries westward to the Pacific.
I find reference - to a section I'm still reading on regarding the
territory covered by present day northern Alabama, northern 2/3 of
Mississippi and southwest Tennessee.
I've got a map from 1797 showing that this area of Mississippi the
northern
third was encompassed by an area known as 'The Georgia
Company'; the
mid-section of the state covered by The Georgia Mississippi Company. This
all had to do with the land speculation flop known to history as the Yazoo
Fraud.
