GA born and bred...can name many off the top of my head and usually tell
their location in the state.
159 counties is a lot!
Live in Alabama now with only 69 counties, and am beginning to know them due
to family research!

: My mind was on the blink the other day as a car from White County, GA
: passed us and I couldn't immediately tell my wife where in north Georgia
: it was located - and the county seat.

: This made my thoughts wander to the thought that if one had a blank map
: of Georgia without the counties being identified - just how many one
: could identify by name and/or location.
:
: Once upon a time I could name about 140 of them off the top of my head.
