Ok, so as I read it - this change would change the requirement from
2/3 of those actually voting to 50% + 1.
My vote for sponsorship: NO.

Some of you may already know of this site so forgive me. This is the link to Old
Georgia Newspapers http://lotus.libs.uga.edu/erms/ogn/index.cfm it does not have
them transcribed but they are on Microfilm at least this will give you an idea
of what may be available.
Ed
Ed, Thanks for that link. I did not know about it. Now I can tell all these folks who want me to wade thru 70 years of old newspapers, how they can go about getting that information themselves. I notice they have a link to local researchers who will do just that for a fee.
Thanks Again

Ed,
It would be a good idea to start a category on the Blog for Newspapers
posting that link and we can add to it over time.
http://www.thegaproject.org/blog/
I have lots of work to do on Newspapers and have some other links I could
dig up to add. My newspaper transcriptions come from boxes of old
newspapers I inherited and have been going through over the years
transcribing and putting online before they finish falling apart but I hope
to finish those some day and will need other resources!
I also called the library in one of my counties and because they get so many
queries regarding what they have, they were more than happy to send me a
list of their newspaper holdings so they could refer people to the site -
it's here:
http://www.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~gafayett/resources/faynewsfilm.htm
I find myself forgetting to search the archives of GAGEN-L for resources and
if we could start putting all of these ideas on the Blog, it would be much
more convenient, and for myself, easier to remember!

Fellow GAGenWeb CC's
I wanted to take this opportunity to thank you all for allowing me to serve
on the Advisory Board for the last 5 years as your CC Representative. This
runoff is for the seat I have vacated and I can't stress enough how very
important it is for you to get to know the candidates and vote! You deserve
to have, and need an informed representative on the AB who will stand up for
your rights as volunteers in The USGenWeb Project.
Our own Kemis Massey is one of the candidates in this runoff and I am
certain she would represent you well!
GAGenWeb is fortunate to have two members presently serving on the AB, who
will continue in that capacity next year - Bettie Wood as a SWSC region CC
rep and Jan Cortez as the NENC State Coordinator Representative - and both
of them put in untold hours over and above the call for you!
Suzanne Shepherd is currently one of your SEMA Region CC Reps and if you
have any questions or problems with voting in the runoff election I am sure
any of them would be glad to help you.
Again, thank you all for your support!
Linda Blum-Barton
