As a rule I just hate cluttering folks' mailboxes with these welcome notes

*Under the Provisions of the USGenWeb Bylaws, I submit to the USGenWeb
Project, that the following section of the USGenWeb Project Bylaws, be
amended as follows:*
That the current Article X which currently reads:
"ARTICLE X. COPYRIGHT

with the creator of the web page(s). Their inclusion as part of The
USGenWeb Project does not give any irrevocable right, implied or
otherwise, to The USGenWeb Project to permanently use the material.
Section 2. In The USGenWeb Project, copyright to queries and any other

Section 3. In The USGenWeb Project, copyright to data contributed to any
special projects resides with the contributor, who agrees that The
USGenWeb Project, as a not-for-profit group, has permanent use of the
data. The permanent use agreement is conditional upon the non-profit
nature of The USGenWeb Project and will become null and void if The
USGenWeb Project should ever cease to be non-profit.
Section 4. All members of The USGenWeb Project shall be responsible for
adhering to The USGenWeb Project's Official Copyright Policy which may
be found, along with further information about copyright, at The

This is the "heading" that was on my password.
The "polls" are open -- so I have already voted.
I urge you to vote right away -- - this is only for the National
Coordinator position -- but a very important choice.
If you have any trouble at all -- please contact some of us to help you out.
There are several pages to go through before you get to the actual "voting
selection page"....

**Please Forward as appropriate to all USGenWeb Mail lists**

>From the FAQ located on the election site:
I believe I am eligible to vote, but I did not receive a password.
Please allow three or four days for all passwords to reach all members.
If
you have not received a password by that time, please check your spam

before contacting the EC Member or Temporary EC Representative assigned
to
your region or special project.
Please state your full name, current and alternate Email Addresses,
State,
County, or Special Project affiliation, and your position, i.e. County
Coordinator, Town Coordinator, Archives File Manager, etc.
Please! Do not wait until the last few days before the election ends

last minute requests frequently do not allow the EC enough time to
arrange for
a password to be sent to you!

Vivian and All,
As with any type of election turn out was poor. "Eligible Voters overall
1770; # of voting members: 484 (27.34463)."
27.34463 - I'm sorry that all of the non-voters didn't have Mrs. Richardson
for civics in the 8th grade. She taught me that at 18 I have the right and
privilege to vote. It is my job as an American to do so. I have not missed
an election since my 18th birthday.
I look at the Web project as a privilege and it is my right to vote to take
care of our project.
BTW, several years back I had the opportunity to thank Mrs. Richardson for
teaching about our right and privilege as Americans. She beamed. Her
husband told me later that she had always wondered if any of her students
ever listened. I assured him we did, because all those kids that I know
vote today.
So the next time we have an election, think of my sweet Mrs. Richardson and
vote because it is your right and privilege to make this project the best it
can be.

Thank you all for voting. There will be a run-off for National
Coordinator 10-24 Aug.
