Beginning March 2nd, 2020 the Mailing Lists functionality on RootsWeb will be discontinued. Users will no longer be able to send outgoing emails or accept incoming emails. Additionally, administration tools will no longer be available to list administrators and mailing lists will be put into an archival state.
Administrators may save the emails in their list prior to March 2nd. After that, mailing list archives will remain available and searchable on RootsWeb

Us too, Bob - we are already under an inland Hurricane Watch here in Hinds
county, MS, but the sun is shining and the sky is blue at the moment - am
gonna try to wish that old storm back out into the gulf! New Orleans is
gonna be a real mess if it gets hit - am very very worried about people who
live there - hope they all get out safely, and that their home is still on
dry land when this is over.

Do we have anyone living in or near New Orleans? I lived there for over a
year and can tell you that everyone should evacuate.
I will be praying for everyone in the path of this "monster" hurricane.

It's a bad one the winds just went up to 175 mph sustained. We are as
ready as we can be here, we got a lot of drinking water 10 gals and what
we can catch before the well pressure drops, and about 70 gals of non
potable water for washing and well you know...A toilet does not work to
well with out water and there is no water if the power goes out to the
well.
ALL Take whatever steps you need to survive for a few days IF things get
bad where you are. No need to wait till the last minute.
Stay Safe and you're all in my prayers as is every other person in harms
way.

I have added four more volumes to the Chattooga County Web site of Death
Records taken from the Summerville News Newspaper spanning the years 1927-1942. I
hope to add more records to the site as the files become available. The

It was my understanding that only the SC would post using BIZ.
Go to
http://archiver.rootsweb.com/th/index/GAGEN/2005-08
Use Find in Top Window - BIZ
My sort "look for Biz in the subject line" picks up anything with BIZ in that
line.
New CCs, training sessions, NON BIZ etc. All of which could wait. I hit reply
without editing the subject line myself on Monday the 22nd.
My new sort will say send anything that says RE to trash and then I will only
open emails from edeye1(a)bellsouth.net
That way I will not be tempted o express an opinion, but will receive
announcements.
Donna
I remember that Vivian!!! I am sure that we all have various lists of
which we are members,
however I do not nave a problem with filtering. If it comes to another
list that would be fine
with me also.

I totally agree with MK. GAGenWeb project mail is not all the email I
receive. I receive local historical society email, Liberty County GAGenWeb
mail, other lists email, personal email, and tons of spam. I too, appreciate
the use of the BIZ subject line. It's not that I am too busy to handle
email at all, but having the BIZ subject makes it a lot easier to filter
casual chat like one-liners back and forth between two members. I enjoy
casual chat, but sometimes I find it better to read such during "off times."

Most of the Recent Email asking for nominations for RA's and the RA
discussions is my fault and I apologize to the list for all the
unnecessary emails.

None of us only get email from this list or our county sites. We also
receive spam, personal emails, etc.
Being one who doesn't always like to read off topic emails, I appreciated
the BIZ subject lines so I can filter my mail.

Deborah,
You are too good. I'm sure Sheila will thrilled to be able to attend. My hubbie says we are going up Friday night so that I can be there on time to tour the archives. He would like to tour with us, if he can. Then he'll disappear and entertain himself for the rest of the day. He knows that's the only way I'll make it on time. I'll be late to my own funeral on day.
I've told many people that genealogists are the most sharing people I know.
