Beginning March 2nd, 2020 the Mailing Lists functionality on RootsWeb will be discontinued. Users will no longer be able to send outgoing emails or accept incoming emails. Additionally, administration tools will no longer be available to list administrators and mailing lists will be put into an archival state.
Administrators may save the emails in their list prior to March 2nd. After that, mailing list archives will remain available and searchable on RootsWeb
This is the current draft of Article 5: Amending the Bylaws from the Bylaws
Committee. We'd like your comments and/or suggestions. Feel free to comment
here, on the message board (http://www.thegaproject.org/discuss.htm), or by
email to any member of the committee.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Amendments to the Bylaws may be proposed by any member of The GAGenWeb
Project. Proposed amendments must have five co-signers from within the
membership, in addition to the original sponsor. The state coordinator will
moderate a discussion of the proposal on the business mailing list. A
motion and second is required. A formal vote on the amendment requires a
2/3 majority of those voting to pass. If approved, the amendment is
effective immediately unless provisions are made otherwise.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
And if you haven't already voted in the Bylaws vote currently on-going,
please do so!
Thanks,
Jacki

2nd try. . . one day I will remember to verify the "from" email address. You give a computer one email address and that's all it wants. If you received this message twice, please excuse the inconvenience.
I caught a bit of commercial and verified it on-line:
For those of you who live in Georgia the special is Wednesday, October 26 8 pm. This is "a celebration of cemeteries across America that takes an unusual and informative look at graves, monuments, family plots, sculpture and the way cemeteries interconnect with many aspects of modern American culture. The special features Atlanta's famed Oakland Cemetery."

Ed,
I belong to the TWO GA Afr-Ame mailing Lists -- and if you want me to
forward something from you to those lists -- maybe we could get a response
that way.
I've not heard from them in a while --- but do continue to send things to
those lists.

make sure we have the correct address. I have had a few that have made

Mine is correct, but...
Is that linked to any other pages out there? I get plenty of spam already.
It's not too difficult to create a "robots.txt" file that keeps the
search engines from indexing that page. I'd be glad to help.
Jason
Please change mine from sobby(a)knology.net to sobbygenealogy(a)knology.net.

Do any of you know how to contact Tru Black Site Coordinator or Sandra

Have any of you had any contact with them?
I have made 2 attempts to contact them about updating their site with no

It's working. I voted.
Sylvia, you'll have to get up before the rooster crows to beat Ed and Vivian.

Because your name and County and email address are on the voting form, counters will be able to toss out duplicate votes.

(Guess I'll have to get up earlier if I want to be ahead of Ed and Vivian!!)
Keith (and all), I am not able to ascertain if your votes went through or to see how anyone voted. Neither is Ed or Vivian. Voting is private. The mailbox for counting votes has a random password set by the server and passed on to the two counters selected by Ed and Vivian. They will be able to ascertain if there were early duplicate votes.
