Beginning March 2nd, 2020 the Mailing Lists functionality on RootsWeb will be discontinued. Users will no longer be able to send outgoing emails or accept incoming emails. Additionally, administration tools will no longer be available to list administrators and mailing lists will be put into an archival state.
Administrators may save the emails in their list prior to March 2nd. After that, mailing list archives will remain available and searchable on RootsWeb
How do y'all handle footnotes when transcribing

I have just kept them as footnotes at the bottom of

John,
Got up early this morning so I could upload the pages that I updated last
night and found the problem. I usually upload new pages or updated pages
in the early morning when few people are online as I still have a dial up
connection. Do have some web sites on other servers, so have been able to
upload them without a problem, so it has to be RootsWeb.
As for my ROBBINS Family. I have no idea as to where they all went. I
found them in NC then in Union County, GA in 1850 to 1870. Cobb County by
1880 and then my husband's grandfather was born in Floyd County in 1899.
At least one went to Texas for a while, but have several that we know
nothing about except the info from the 1880 census.
One interesting tid bit is that Essie Mae Robbins born about 1889 or 1892,
married a "RICH" as her first husband. Her Dad was Elmore Robbins and
after he died or left, her mother "married" his brother Newton Cicero
Robbins. Found the marriage record for Elmore and Mary Elizabeth WEST
STRICKLAND, but not for Mary Elizabeth and Newton Cicero ROBBINS. Have
checked both GA & AL counties for the marriage and can find nothing.
By the time I married into the ROBBINS family, most of the older generation
had either died or could no longer remember the names of the children and
where they lived.

Good Morning,
Is anyone having any problem with their existing user accounts and PW's
on Rootsweb servers? I was unable to logon this morning to either the
Morgan or Jefferson County, GA websites.
Since I just updated to WS-FTP 9.0 from 8.0, yesterday, I do not know
whether the problem is on my end or on Rootsweb's end. However, Version 9.0
had no problem, yesterday but it returned a comment this morning that my
credentials had been rejected. Just thought I would ask.

Hello, All,
Today we have completed our elections for Regional Assistants and begin yet
another phase of the new GAGenWeb Project.
Our RAs are as follows:
Liz Nash, Northeast
Ed Gordon, Metro
Beth Shaw, Northwest
Seana Coulter, West Central
Nancy Gay Crawford, East Central
Jacki Jonas, Southwest
Melody McCook, South Central
Jan Cortez, Coastal
These are the folks will be your "first responders" when you need help.
That does not mean you cannot call on me, Jeanne, Sylvia and her Tech
Support Team, or any other GAGenWeb member. We are all here to help each other.
With this message, I will officially dissolve the GAGenWeb Transition Team.
This project owes a huge debt of gratitude to Linda Blum-Barton, Jan
Cortez, Virginia Crilley, Debra Crosby, Joy Fisher, Linda Woodward Geiger,
MK Harrison, Sylvia Caldwell Rankin, Wyndell Taylor and Bettie Woods. These
folks have worked for countless hours to re-build the GAGenWeb Project.
Of this team, Linda Woodward Geiger will remain on "staff" as the state
page webmaster and Sylvia Caldwell Rankin as the state Technical Support
Team leader.
We also need to thank Linda Haas Davenport and Marti Graham for helping
with our RA elections.
At this time, I want us all to redouble our efforts to bring our pages into
compliance with the USGenWeb requirements and to make our pages even more
helpful and relevant to researchers. I would encourage each of you to take
a look at the US requirements at the following url:
http://www.usgenweb.org/volunteers/CCguidelines.shtml
The only contact person who currently is required to be listed on your page
is the county coordinator (with email link). I would urge you to have
another contact person's name. The logical choice would be a co-CC,
assistant or associate CC, the SC or RA. If you decide to list the Regional
Assistant, remember that they are no longer called Regional Coordinators.
I also want to stress the importance of project name recognition and
display of logos. We are members of the GAGenWeb Project and the USGenWeb
Project. Please note the use of the postal abbreviation and the fact that
there are no spaces in the name. The US bylaws require "prominent"
placement of the USGenWeb logo. The bylaws do not define "prominent."
Please use only the GAGenWeb logos found at
http://www.rootsweb.com/~gagenweb/logos.htm
The old pink logo MUST be removed. It does not belong to this project and
is being used by another Georgia project. We want to make sure that both
the GA and US logos are displayed, so that visitors to our sites can see
clearly that we are the only project affiliated with the USGenWeb Project.
Hopefully, this will be the last of the housekeeping chores for our pages.
Let's get these few things done quickly, so we can return to the business
of helping researchers.
Thanks!

Ok I have Irwin done (scroll down) if any want to use it. I have been calling them land lot maps but I believe they should be "land districts" as you can see in the text below Irwin has 16 Districts. So it looks like this map will be of more help with the 1820 Lottery.
Year of Drawing: 1820

Appling: 13 Districts (1-13)
Early: 26 Districts (1-23; 26-28)
Gwinnett: 3 Districts (5-7)
Habersham: 10 Districts (1-6; 10-13)
Hall: 5 Districts (8-12)
Irwin: 16 Districts (1-16)
Rabun: 5 Districts (1-5)
Walton: 4 Districts (1-4)
Size of Land Lots
Appling: 490 acres (4620 feet square)

Gwinnett: 250 acres (3300 feet square)
Habersham: [Districts 1-4; 10-13] 250 acres; [Districts 5-6] 490 acres
