Re: [GAGEN] State page site updates

I would say I don't agree with you on this. I have an email- gaila
2merrington.net which is a domain name email. I have had it for years. The
spam I receive at this address is relatively minor. I think most of the
mail I was getting was actually to the real email address
merring(a)bigpond.net.au
When I looked at the spam all the others on the list were the next names in
a logarithms system at the Bigpond domain. So I think the spammers
basically just take the general email address and promulgate the email
addresses beginning (in my case) 'Merr' and then spam those addresses.
With Viruses, most of the viruses I get are from Rootsweb related sources
and the odd friend who has been caught out. But if you get a domain name
email address and change your ISP provider every few years, you will be
amazed at how your spam drops. Which leads me to believe that Spammers
aren't using bots as much as we once suspected they did.
I almost never use my yahoo accounts and never my hotmail account and they
get more spam than the domain name, again because the spammers find it
easier to get those lists and those email addresses are hardly ever posted.
