Beginning March 2nd, 2020 the Mailing Lists functionality on RootsWeb will be discontinued. Users will no longer be able to send outgoing emails or accept incoming emails. Additionally, administration tools will no longer be available to list administrators and mailing lists will be put into an archival state.
Administrators may save the emails in their list prior to March 2nd. After that, mailing list archives will remain available and searchable on RootsWeb

Virginia if you will go to
http://genconnect.rootsweb.com/genbbs.cgi/USA/Ga/Forsyth
you will see that it says gatewayed.
If you post something, not only will I not get a message, I won't even get a
not a subscriber. I wondered if they were sending it to Forsyth in another
state or the Forsyth surname board.
Donna
I have the queries gatewayed to the counties mail list but they always kick
back with "Not a subscriber" in the Subject line ahead of the actual
subject. How can I change this so all queries go straight to the mail list?
Thanks
Jimmy
I just successfully helped someone "gateway" a list just the other
day....so Donna, maybe they're better organized now. It just took us a
couple of days....and the length of time was mainly because it required
notes by two different people (one who had the list and one who had the
boards)
Your board....as well as the message....says "gateway"....so you know when
it is set up...

If you have gc-gateway(a)rootsweb.com on your accept list on the mail list,
they should go through but I know that they don't necessarily. I sent several
emails as board admin to boards-localities(a)rootsweb.com making requests
since the Forsyth List was not coming thru and Hall was coming thru only
occasionally. I follwed up on the board mail list and was referred back to
the email above. I finally gave up and removed the accept code from all my
locality boards.
The surname boards seem to work fine.

Do you have the proper "gc-gateway(a)rootsweb.com" in your Mailing Lists
"Accept List".
If not, you need to do that. Go into your "tools" page for the Mailing
List....log in
Then choose "Edit Files"....
"Edit Accept files"
You should also have your own e-mail address in that same file...
If this isn't the solution, do get back.... maybe there is some other problem.

The help wanted sign is out for the following counties
that need a CC to replace CCs who have left for a variety
of reasons:
Butts
Calhoun
Johnson
McDuffie
Also, Margie Daniels has had to step down as East Central
Regional Coordinator.
If you would like to volunteer for any of these areas or have
resources for same, please contact gagenweb-l(a)rootsweb.com
Has anyone heard from the Washington County CC, Amanda Logue?
Her mail is bouncing as unknown user and I don't find a different
address on the county site.
Thanks,
Tim
