No Vote, as the SC for GAGenWeb, I will publicly apologize to any one who is
offended, but the GA and Confederate, and any other version of the flags STAY! I
apologize if any one does not like this decision. I have to assert the
leadership I have. We are not here to be Politically Correct. We are here as
volunteers... To help the maximum # of people, not be swayed by the minority of
those who complain!
I apologize if you get this multiple times!

Hi Tom,
First, I personally want to apologize to you. I thought my email message
was very clear...but I guess not. I'll see if I can sort it out...
Regional Coordinators are here to help CCs in their region with questions
or problems. We are your first 'line of defense'. The SC and ASC cannot
possibly assist every county so we divided the responsibilities via regions.
RC's also have the task of periodically reviewing county pages in compliance
with USGenWeb policies & procedures by which GAGenWeb must also adhere.
GAGenWeb also revised it's guidelines [also in keeping with USGenWeb policy]
this past week. The officers/board that passed them consist of the SC, ASC,
RC's and GA Project Coordinators==your leaders.
Thus, you received my memo. The only 'official' GAGenWeb guidelines as
passed by the officer/board is found at the GaGenWeb site:
http://www.rootsweb.com/~gagenweb/cchelp/
I hope this clears things up....

not to. Today I get a message from Scott Warren to visit

and see if my pages are up to par. Is this a valid page for standards?
(I have not at this time looked at it.) By the way, the message to me
was well done and not offensive in any way.
I just saw a message that I should check
http://www.rootsweb.com/~gagenweb/cchelp/
and not other pages.
Who is in charge? What pages do I copmapre to? Who are the "regional
people" and what do they have to do with the pages that I work?
(Yes I have read my mail relating to the regional folks!)
I have stayed out of the politics here and do not want to get into that
mess. I have enough ulcer problems as it is. I do not wish to remain on
any list that becomes a flame war between competing factions. I just
want to do the pages so long as I can support the project and will be
happy to remove myself at any time they are not meeting the "standards"
that are needed.
Up until now Georgia has been free of this garbage (bickering) on the
list. I hope it will continue that way. I will be happy to do anything
reasonable that is asked by the leadership... if I can figure out who it
is and that it will remain that way for enough months to justify the
changes in the pages.

Pat Lowe
State Coordinator
GeorgiaGenWeb Project
Hi,
Call me a 90 day wonder, lame duck or whatever. I will be your NC until
replaced by a newly elected NC in approximately 90 days.
I would like to begin by telling you that I have absolutely no intention of
running for the office of USGenWeb National Coordinator. Therefore any
decisions I make will not be politically motivated. In my view the National
Advisory Board MAKES the rules, policies and procedures. In short the
USGenWeb Project is governed by YOUR elected board whose duty it is to
represent their respective constituencies consistent with the best
interests of the project as a whole. I see the USGenWeb Project National
Coordinator as the person who OPERATES the project consistent with the
policies established by the National Advisory Board.
The volunteers on the National Advisory Board have a number of tasks ahead
of them and some (an NC election for example) need to be addressed
immediately. For your information, below is a list (not necessarily
prioritized or complete) of the things we will be addressing over the
coming days.
1. Temporary Replacement of SW/SC CC Rep
2. Election of NC
3. Establishment of a Grievance Procedure
4. Establishment of a By-Laws Review Committee
5. Selection of a Board Secretary
There are many other issues we will be confronting in the coming weeks and
we trust that we will receive your support and cooperation. We, like you,
are volunteers. We are not here for the glory but, like you, to help the
genealogical community, let's show that community the USGenWeb Project's
solidarity of purpose.
Thanks,
Bob Bamford
