I hope each of you has had the delightful experience of receiving one of
the files when some contributor used the "forms" --- they come to you all
formatted and read to load.
I've noticed that I am getting much more data from counties that I had not
previously heard from. I think they love being able to "click" and send the
data without having to go through the process of "what format?". And
better yet, we don't have to struggle to open up their files!!
I want to call to your attention the IMPORTANCE of RETAINING the
ORIGINAL file name as it comes to you, i.e. ob121, nw3 etc.
David (Debra's wonderful and very talented husband) is working on a method
so that our TOC will be automatically created for us --- not ready yet, and
you can imagine how complicated that is to set-up.... BUT this requires
that the original file name be used---- so what we need to do to help him
out is this:
We need to retain the original name of the file: ob121; mr23 etc. (I've
been renaming them to a surname in some cases, but this is going to
complicate the "automatic TOC" ...so now that I understand the plan to use
the original name, ob121.--- I am NOT going to rename any more!!)
I'm going to go back and rename the ones that I can track down....
IF you have any questions at all about this --- please don't hesitate to
ask. I've found that "experience" is the best teacher --- but we want to
help you out so that it will be easier for you.
I've already made some mistakes --- so I should be able to teach you how to
avoid them!!
Debra is also a wonderful teacher and explains things so well.
We welcome your comments.....
