I would like to thank you for your efforts regarding tombstone transcriptions. As if you
didn't already have enough to do, I have a suggestion that you might like to consider.
I am one of a group who transcribes cemeteries in and around Hardee County, Florida. My
daughter-in-law started working for a local funeral home, so I asked her to see if she
could find information on one of my ancestors whose grave is unmarked. This is where we
"hit the jackpot." She located "funeral arrangement" forms for many
ancestors that listed relatives, pall bearers, birthplace, place of death and much more
information. Many of these files are boxed up in storage rooms and will eventually be
discarded. You might consider mentioning this to volunteers as an addition to their
transcriptions.
