Beginning March 2nd, 2020 the Mailing Lists functionality on RootsWeb will be discontinued. Users will no longer be able to send outgoing emails or accept incoming emails. Additionally, administration tools will no longer be available to list administrators and mailing lists will be put into an archival state.
Administrators may save the emails in their list prior to March 2nd. After that, mailing list archives will remain available and searchable on RootsWeb
David,
Where do you put probate records that are not wills?

This was sent to the OK archivists, but I didn't want to waste all
this typing.

Yesterday, there was 8,052 (8 MB) in the misc category. Today there
is 6,024 (6 MB)
Yesterday, there was 24,384 (24 MB) in the cemetery category. Today
there is 26,432 (26+ MB)
I don't believe anybody uploaded 2 MB of cemeteries yesterday, so this
change was accomplished by moving cemeteries out of the /cems/ directory
and into /cemeteries/
Misc is now 10% is the total instead of 14%. That still seems high to me,
but it is better than it was.
When in doubt look at the categories at the top of
http://www.rootsweb.com/~usgenweb/newstats.html
We know these categories will put files in the proper place in the stats.
It also helps in the search engine.
/bible/ (I think bibles will also work)
/bios/ ( I think biography and biographies also works)
/cemetery/
/cemeteries/
/churches/ (I think church also works)
/census/
/court/
/deeds/ (either deeds or land will work)
/land/
/military/
/newspapers/ (no other spelling will work for news)
/obits/ (I think obituary and obituaries also work)
/taxlists/ (this is the only one that will work for tax)
/history/
/wills/
/vitals/ (it looks like vital also works)
/vitals/births/
/vitals/deaths/
/vitals/marriages/
/vitals/divorce/
/misc/ (please use this as a last resort, if you can't find a better place)
