Greetings,
I have received the OFFICAL pronouciation for Gwynedd from Carys. She says:
Clarifying the pronunciation of Gwynedd - It is Gwyn-eth, but having
said
that there is a girls name in welsh -Gwyneth. When I first read you
question I read the word Gwynedd in welsh <VBG>(I'm getting good with my
keyboard) and this was a bit confusing as in the welsh language the dd does
not sound the same as th at all. But when I checked in the Academy English
to Welsh dictionary it does actually pronounce the dd as th in English.
e.g. dd as in Gwynedd [o] (weakly voiced dental or alveolar).
as th in then, breathe.

As you can see, I taught her some email verbage: <G>, <VBG>, BTW, etc.
She is teaching me some Welsh...
Ex: Annwyl means Dear (as in Dear John)
Hwyl am y tro. (I'm asking for clarification, but it appears to mean: I
hope this is of some help to you.)
More later,
Emily
