Here's a nice little photo of part the Rhiwlas farm house, just for fun:

I'll contact the Foulke site owners & let you know what I find out.
FYI, this is from one of the few pages I could get from "Evans,
Americans of Royal Descent", by Thelma Evans Reddell, p. 77: "The
principal settlers and purchasers were William Jones, Thomas Evans,
Robert Evans, Owen Evans, Cadwallader Evans, Hugh Griffith, John Hugh,
Edward Foulke, John Humphrey and Robert Jones. These people were
closely attached to each other, not only as countrymen whose race
feeling is proverbial, but by ties of kindred which made them almost a
single family." I'm hoping contacting the Foulke owners will prove this
true.
I have, by the way, made contact with a descendent of Cadwalader ap Evan
(son of Evan ap Evan) named Karen Evans Beal. I told her of this list &
hope we'll hear from her. I don't believe we have a descendent of
Cadwalader on the list at this point.
Regarding Emily's query of purpose & function of the list, I like the
idea of sharing resources best of all. So much is accessible via
internet that anyone who can take the time, can find something of
interest to share, and I for one, am very appreciative of new resources
& items of close interest. I also like the bios of individual ancestors
& Welsh life & customs of the times as they add real flesh & blood to
the names on our trees. And I like the idea of the development of a
bibliography & bank of resources (including web sites). I suppose that,
to my mind, the idea behind any list is a mutual sharing of information
by people actively interested in some sort of research or otherwise
discovery. If I'm able to enhance my knowledge by others'
contributions to the list, I'm more than happy to share & post what I
discover on my own. So there's my 2 cents.
Good night, Beth.
