Hi Emily & Cousins,
I just received this response to a posting on the Evans Rootsweb list. I thought you
descendents of Sarah would be particularly interested in the connection. I wrote him back
& suggested he join the list and told him we could all share together. I have the
feeling we'll be hearing from him, but in any case, wanted the rest of you to be aware
of another cousin.
Beth.

Dear Beth
I read with a great deal of interest your message on rootsweb dated Sep 4, 1999,
concerning the Evans family. I am a descendent of Robert and Sarah (Evans) Pugh who
removed from near Bala, Merionethshire, Wales, to Gwynedd, Pa. in 1698. I have a great
deal of information on these families from various Penn. records and from other
researchers. I'm sure you have most of what I have compiled.
You did state in your message that you had information which shows that Sarah's
brother, Thomas, came from Wales to Penn. the year before she and the other brothers
came. You also have identified the ship the family sailed on in 1698 and the dates it
sailed from England and its arrival in Penn. Do you have the passenger list for that
ship? If so was Robert and Sarah Pugh on the list? My records all indicate they came at
the same time to Penn.
Also, I have a copy of the book "Welsh Founders of Pennsylvania" Vol I and II,
by Thomas Allen Glenn, 1911-1913. This book takes your Evans family back about forty
generations to the year 843 A. D. This is apparently authentic since some members of the
Pugh family have been approved for membership in "The National Society Magna Charta
Dames" using this genealogy. If you don't have this information please advise
and I will send to you.
Again, I would appreciate any information you might have on the Robert and Sarah (Evans)
Pugh family (and related families) in Gwynedd, Pa.
Sincerely
G. Randall Pugh
