Roland,
I don't doubt what you are seeing on the Net, but have you tried to buy it?
At least here, they are still quoting me $1.62. I know that the price the
"banks" buy it for is quite a bit cheaper and am "guessing" that is
the
price you are seeing, but even if that is so, I should be seeing that $1.62
going down. Something is weird.
The last time I went to Italy, I had a bank quote me their buying price and
when I went to pick it up, they caught their error. That's how I learned
of that difference in price, but like any misquoted sale, I asked for the
price quoted me and they had to give it. to me.
IF you are able to get it for $1.4997, would you be interested in making a
buy for me? I'd gladly send you the $$ in what ever form you choose. For
that price different, I'll write the check in gold ink and send it priority
mail! <G>
Somehow, there is a difference here, and I'd like to understand it.
Also, while I have your attention...do you want to write Ifor, or shall I?
Let's see when we can get a date with him and Keith for dinner, etc. (Also
others of the gang, if interested.)
TTYL,
Emily
I wonder if we're looking at two different things? (Or if you need to
switch banks) :-) The price for a British Pound in US Dollars, as I write
this is $1.4997. If it closes there it will be the third 52 week low set
this week. It has been dropping steadily since my original post. The 52 week
high for the Pound is $1.6790 and that's a significant difference. I track
it on Yahoo's finace page:
