Dear Jeanne
Welcome to the Fron Goch group. It's good to hear from you again. We
corresponded and exchanged information on the Pugh family about two years
ago. I'm the one who suggested you obtain a copy of the Diaries of Rev.
Evan Pugh. It's great to see you're still searching. I have uncovered a
few more pieces of the puzzle on Evan, Sr. in VA relating to his second
marriage and his death. If you don't have these please let me know.
Emily and all. I did obtain three copies of the British microfilm which you
earlier suggested. They were No. 104799 "Bishop's
transcripts--Christenings, Marriages, burials, 1667-1672, 1677-1692,
1698-1835 (Llanfor Parish); No. 104830 Same as above except for Llancil
Parish; and No. 104701, Wills which includes Merioneth, Wales. I spent two
hours at the local FHC reviewing the one on wills and I must tell you it was
two hours of total frustration. I reviewed only about a dozen documents. I
have been reading Colonial American documents for over twenty five years and
thought I was prepared, but not so. Some of the Welsh language, their
abbreviations, and the inclusion in some documents of Latin terms, as well
as some of the handwriting simply overwhelmed me. While some of the
documents were quite faded and in poor condition many were surprisingly
well preserved apparently. And the writing style was nothing short of
beautiful. I will make more attempts before you leave for Wales this
summer, however, I'm not sure I will be of much help. I wish you and the
others the best in your deciphering of the documents there.
Randall

Hi: I've been a silent member of this mail list for several week
The time
has come that I need to put something on it.
I descend from Robert and Sarah (Evans) Pugh who immigrated from Wales to
Pennsylvania, Welsh Tract in 1698.
I am a retired teacher living in Fresno CA. I have done genealogical
research for
about 12 years. My husband and I live at Sierra Sky Park, the
first aviation community. We keep our planes in hangers in front of our
homes and taxi on 80 foot wide streets to the taxi strip. We are both
active in musical, church and aviation activities. It doesn't leave enough
time for working on my genealogy, but it's great fun and we meet great
people doing it.
